Meet Elana
A Mental Health Clinician with Into Freedom Counseling
Elana Huff, Master Level Intern |
Life is hard…extremely painful at times. In a culture that prizes independence, it can take courage to reach out for support. However, I believe we all need people in our lives who will listen well, offer presence and express empathy through every season. Whether you are plodding through the darkest days of your life or just needing a safe place to process some of life’s complexities, I welcome you.
I believe every person has profound value and incredible resilience. This belief informs the way I interact with my clients. I seek to honor both their dignity and agency as they navigate life’s challenges. I cannot do the work for them, but I will offer support and champion them along the way. I am earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Denver Seminary, and I am an intern under supervision at Into Freedom Counseling in Colorado Springs. I expect to complete my degree in December, 2023. While I am available to work with a wide variety of presenting issues, some of my specific passions include: grief and loss, chronic illness/disability, trauma recovery, relational difficulties, life transitions, navigating LGBTQ+ identity & faith, cross-cultural adjustment & re-entry, spirituality, faith deconstruction & reconstruction. I’m drawn to integrating a variety of modalities in my counseling approach, including: Narrative therapy, a Person-Centered approach, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). |
